To apply Augments in MK11, select the Gear piece that you want to augment. Then, select the augment that you want to slot in, and press X (on PS4, or whatever the equivalent on your platform is). Mind you, the augment has to be for that specific Gear; for example, with Sub Zero, you can't slot in an augment meant for the ax into the mask slot.
